P1103 - MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR IN RANGE BUT HIGHER THAN EXPECTED

Description:  This DTC sets when the airflow is greater than the calibrated threshold based on the engine speed and torque.
Possible Causes:
  • Charge air cooler (CAC) restriction
  • CAC leak
  • Intake air system restriction
  • Intake air system leak
  • Damaged mass airflow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the instrument cluster message center.
When the engine speed revolutions per minute (RPM) is 600 RPM to 3500 RPM the airflow should be less than 300 to 1150, airflow greater than the maximum threshold value indicates a concern.
