Exhaust Y-Pipe: Installation

  1. NOTE: Do not tighten the fasteners until all components are assembled.

    Install the exhaust Y-pipe in the vehicle and loosely install the new RH exhaust Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.

  2. NOTE: Do not tighten the fasteners until all components are assembled.

    Loosely install the new LH exhaust Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.

  3. NOTE: Do not tighten the fasteners until all components are assembled.

    Loosely install the new exhaust Y-pipe-to-catalytic converter bolts.

    1. Tighten the LH lower exhaust Y-pipe nut.

      Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

    2. Tighten the LH upper exhaust Y-pipe nut.

      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    3. Tighten the LH lower exhaust Y-pipe nut.

      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    1. Tighten the RH lower exhaust Y-pipe nut.

      Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

    2. Tighten the RH upper exhaust Y-pipe nut.

      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    3. Tighten the RH lower exhaust Y-pipe nut.

      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  4. Evenly tighten the exhaust Y-pipe-to-catalytic converter bolts.

    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  5. Attach the wire to the retainer and connect the RH side HO2S electrical connector.

  6. Connect the LH side HO2S electrical connector.

  7. Check the exhaust system for leaks.
