Front Seatbelt Retractor and Pretensioner - Super Cab: Removal

WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully.   1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to Health And Safety Precautions . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

  2. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
  3. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to: Rear Door Trim Panel - Super Cab .
  4. Release the retainers and position the seatbelt guide aside.

    1. Disconnect the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner electrical connectors.
    2. Detach the wiring harness retainer.

  5. Remove the outer weather seal.

    1. Position the seatbelt aside.
    2. Remove the outer weather seal and discard.

  6. Remove the bolt and the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner.

  7. Remove the inner weather seal and discard.

  8. Clean the surface area of foreign materials.
