Disassembly And Assembly Of Subassemblies: Piston: Assembly

  1. Indicates front of engine.

  2. Install the piston to the connecting rod.

  3. Lubricate with clean engine oil and install the piston pin.

    Material: Motorcraft® SAE 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QFS (WSS-M2C945-A)

  4. Install the piston pin retainers.

  5. Lubricate with clean engine oil and install the piston rings.

    Material: Motorcraft® SAE 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QFS (WSS-M2C945-A)

  6. NOTE: Align the piston rings on the piston.

    1. Upper oil control segment ring gap location.
    2. Oil control spacer gap location.
    3. Lower oil control segment ring gap location.
    4. Piston to be assembled with the arrow pointing to the front of the engine.
