Catalytic Converter: Installation

Clean all exhaust connections before reassembly.
1. Clean and inspect the gasket surface.
2. NOTE: Make sure that new gasket is installed.
  
  Install the new gasket.

Install the front muffler equipped with catalytic converter and attach the exhaust hanger isolator.

NOTE: The clamp is only finger tight at this step.

Partial replacement, typical clamp shown in illustration. Connect the front muffler equipped with catalytic converter to the rear muffler and tailpipe using the exhaust clamp.

NOTE: Make sure that new nuts are installed.

NOTE: The nuts are only finger tight at this step.

Install the new nuts.

If equipped. Install the center support brace and the bolts.
Torque

: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Tighten the clamp.
Torque

: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Torque

Check the exhaust system for leaks.
