Coolant Pump: Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Remove the RH headlamp assembly. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .
  3. Release the degas bottle support tabs and position the degas bottle aside.

  4. Remove the engine mount bolts.

  5. Using a floor jack and wooden block, support and raise the engine.

  6. Remove the bolt and the accessory drive belt cover.

  7. Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts. Loosen: 2 turn(s)

  8. WARNING: The tensioner is under spring tension. Be careful when handling the tensioner. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    NOTE: Position the accessory drive belt so no coolant will drip on the belt, or the belt may be contaminated.

    1. Using a suitable tool, retract the accessory drive belt tensioner.
    2. Position aside the accessory drive belt.
    3. Release the accessory drive belt tensioner.

  9. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.

  10. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.

  11. Discard the O-ring seal.
