Instrument Panel Upper Section: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the instrument panel. Refer to: Instrument Panel .
- Remove the drive knee airbag. Refer to: Driver Knee Airbag .

- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
- Release the clips disconnect the electrical connector and remove the lower steering column trim panel.
- Remove the bolts.
- Move the steering wheel to the lowest position.
- Release the upper steering column shroud tabs.
- Center the steering wheel.
- Remove the upper steering column shroud and lower IPC trim panel.
- Remove the bolts and the lower steering column shroud.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the APIM Refer to: SYNC Module [APIM] .
- Remove the screws and the climate control assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolt, release the harness retainers and position aside the harness.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Remove the upper trim panel.
- Remove the screws and the IPC.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- On both sides. Refer to: A-Pillar Trim Panel .

- Remove the passenger side air bag to in-vehicle cross beam bolts.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Disconnect the electrical connectors release the harness retainers and position aside harness.
- Remove the passenger side air bag to in-vehicle cross beam bolts.
- Remove the bolts and the steering column.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and position the harness aside.
- Remove the hose.
- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not hindered before removing the instrument panel upper section or damage to the components may occur.
Remove the instrument panel upper section.
- Disconnect the electrical connector, release the harness retainers and position aside the harness.
