Battery Cables - 2.0L Duratec-HE (110kW/150PS) - MI4: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
NOTE: The cowl panel is removed for clarity.

Remove the battery covers.

1. Disconnect the BMS electrical connector.
2. Remove the negative battery cable nut.
  Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
3. Remove the negative battery cable nut.
  Torque: 150 lb.in (17 Nm)

Remove the positive battery cable cover.

Loosen the nut and remove the retainer, detach the positive battery cable from the battery terminal post.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

1. Detach the wiring harness retainers.
2. Detach the wiring harness retainer.
3. Disconnect the starter motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the nut.
  Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
5. Remove the nut.
  Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
