Parking Brake Cable: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Position aside the parking brake lever grip and remove the parking brake lever boot.

- Remove the parking brake cable adjustment nut lock nut.
- Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.
- Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Remove the nuts, separate the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter and remove the gasket.
Torque
: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
- If equipped. Remove the bolts and the underbody floor bracket.
Torque
: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Detach the exhaust isolator.
- Remove the nuts and lower the forward exhaust heat shield.
- Remove the rearward exhaust heat shield nuts.
- Slide the rearward exhaust heat shield back and remove the rearward exhaust heat shield.
Remove the nuts and position the fuel tank heat shield aside.

NOTE: Note the position of the components before removal.
- Rotate the equalizer and disconnect the front cable and equalizer assembly.
- Push inward on the 2 tabs and detach the LH and RH cables from the bracket.
- On both sides.
- Rotate the parking brake cable lever.
- Push outwards and disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake caliper lever.
- Push inwards on the tab, detach the parking brake cable from the brake caliper bracket.
- Detach the parking brake cable retainers. Remove the bracket bolts, nuts and the parking brake cable.
