Passenger Seat Track: Removal

WARNING: The following procedure describes critical repair steps required for correct seat component installation. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Do not place any objects between the seat components and the body of the vehicle, nor any objects within a joint internal to the seat structure. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the seat components and increases the risk of serious personal injury.
WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
  2. Remove the cover, the bolt and the recline handle.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  3. Remove the screw and the outboard upper side shield.

  4. Remove the screw and the inboard lower side shield.

  5. Remove the screw and the inboard side shield cover.

  6. Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover downward.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wire harness retainer. Remove the screw and the seat position switch.

    Torque: 9 lb.in (1 Nm)

  8. Remove the retaining clip.

  9. If equipped. Disconnect the electrical connectors and release the wire harness retainer. Position aside the wire harness.

  10. Disconnect the electrical connectors and release the wire harness retainer. Position aside the wire harness.

  11. Disconnect the electrical connector and release the wire harness retainer. Position aside the wire harness.

  12. If equipped. Release the wire harness retainer and position aside the wire harness.

  13. If equipped. Release the clips and remove the heated seat module.

  14. Remove the bolt and the front safety belt buckle.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  15. Release the wire harness retainers and disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the wire harness assembly.

  16. NOTE: Take extra care not to damage the clips.
    NOTE: Note the location of the OCS hose and heater mat pigtail (if equipped) as it passes through the seat springs for proper installation.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Release the bracket locking tabs and detach the OCS.

  17. Release the wire harness retainer and disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the wire harness assembly.

  18. NOTE: Make sure that no components catch.

    Release the J-clips and remove the seat cushion cover and foam.

  19. NOTE: Make sure that the wiring harness does not catch.

    Remove the bolts and the front seat backrest.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

    NOTE: Note the location of the OCS hose and heater mat pigtail (if equipped) as it passes through the seat springs for proper installation.

    1. If equipped with original equipment (OE) OCS. Remove the retainers and OCS sensor assembly.
    2. If equipped with original equipment (OE) OCS. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  21. Remove the bolts, release the clip and remove the front seat cushion support.

    Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

  22. Release the clip and remove the wire harness connection bracket.

  23. Release the tabs and remove the passenger seat track trim cover.
