Battery Disconnect and Connect

Disconnect
NOTE:
When the battery is disconnected and connected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven to allow the PCM to relearn the adaptive strategy values.
NOTE:
The following 2 steps are for disconnecting the negative battery cable to interrupt power to the vehicle electrical system. It is not necessary to disconnect the positive battery cable.
- Remove the retainers and the battery cover.
- Loosen the nut and position the negative battery cable.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Position the positive battery cable cover, loosen the nut and position the positive battery cable.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
Connect
- To connect, reverse the disconnect procedure.
