Pinpoint Test Cr: Invalid Data Received

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Communications Network - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    IPC U0401:00 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A: No Sub Type Information Invalid speedometer and temperature gauge data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0401:81 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A: Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid speedometer and temperature gauge data received for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0401:82 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing cruise control/ACC data, temperature, powertrain wrench, drive mode or rev match data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0401:86 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A: Signal Invalid Invalid odometer data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0415:00 Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module 'A': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing accelerometer, lap timer or brake performance data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0415:81 Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module 'A': Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid or missing accelerometer, lap timer or brake performance data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0415:82 Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing line lock, lap timer or brake performance data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0420:00 Invalid Data Received from Power Steering Control Module 'A': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing power steering control data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0420:82 Invalid Data Received from Power Steering Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing power steering control data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0422:00 Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module: No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing TPMS data for 5 seconds or longer. (The TPMS indicator flashes for 75 seconds the on solid.)
    IPC U0424:80 Invalid Data Received From HVAC Control Module: ISO/SAE Reserved Invalid or missing outside air temperature data for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0424:81 Invalid Data Received From HVAC Control Module: Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid or missing outside air temperature data for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0424:82 Invalid Data Received From HVAC Control Module: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing outside air temperature data for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0431:82 Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing load shed data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0452:81 Invalid Data Received From Restraints Control Module: Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid or missing Belt-Minder data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0533:00 Invalid Data Received From Side Obstacle Detection Control Module 'A': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing BLIS or CTA data for 1.6 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0533:82 Invalid Data Received From Side Obstacle Detection Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing BLIS or CTA data for 1.6 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0534:00 Invalid Data Received From Side Obstacle Detection Control Module 'B': No Sub Type Information Invalid or missing BLIS or CTA data for 1.6 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0534:82 Invalid Data Received From Side Obstacle Detection Control Module 'B': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing BLIS or CTA data for 1.6 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0542:82 Invalid Data Received From Headlamp Control Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing adaptive headlamps or high beam indicator data for 5 seconds or longer.
    IPC U0557:80 Invalid Data Received From Front Controls Interface Module 'A': ISO/SAE Reserved Invalid or missing outside air temperature data for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0557:81 Invalid Data Received From Front Controls Interface Module 'A': Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid or missing outside air temperature data for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)
    IPC U0557:82 Invalid Data Received From Front Controls Interface Module 'A': Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated Invalid or missing outside air temperature data for 5 seconds or longer. (The outside air temperature displays as dashes.)

    Possible Sources 

    • Suspect module

  2. CR1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE MODULE SENDING INVALID DATA

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the self-test for the module in question sending the invalid data.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present from the module sending the invalid data? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE the module sending the invalid data. REFER to the appropriate service information.
    No  DIAGNOSE the observable symptom present. REFER to the appropriate symptom chart.
