Muffler and Tailpipe: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Clean all exhaust connections before reassembly.
NOTE: Bumper not shown in illustration for clarity.
1. Position the muffler and tailpipe in hanger isolators and in the vehicle.
2. Install the LH and RH rear exhaust hanger isolator bracket bolts in the rear subframe.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: Ensure that the service clamp centered correctly over the joint, failing this could result in damage to the active exhaust actuator wiring harness and muffler and tailpipe assembly.

NOTE: Make sure that the clamp aligns with the installation mark.

Position the locking tabs and align the clamps with installation mark.

Install the LH and RH clamp nuts.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Attach the wiring retainers. Connect the LH and RH tailpipe actuator electrical connectors.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Check the exhaust system for leaks.
