Fuel Tank Filler Pipe: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Install the refueling adapter and a 6 ft. length of 5/8 in. semi-rigid fuel drain tube into the Easy Fuel™ (capless) fuel tank filler pipe until the tube enters the fuel tank. Use Special Service Tool: 310-102 Fuel Draining Hose.
- Remove the rear wheel on the LH side. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Remove the retainers and position aside LH rear wheel splash shield aside.

NOTE: Some fuel may remain in the fuel tank filler pipe after draining. Carefully disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe hose from the fuel tank and drain any residual fuel into a suitable container.
Release the clamp and disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Detach the clip and position the wiring harness aside.

- Disconnect the vapor tube Quick Release Coupling. Refer to: SPRING LOCK COUPLINGS .
- Remove retainers and the Fuel Tank Filler Pipe.
Torque: 20 lb.ft (27 Nm)
