Transmission Park by Wire Manual Release

Activation 

NOTE: This vehicle is equipped with a brake shift interlock feature that prevents the vehicle from being moved out of P when the ignition is in the ON position until the brake pedal is applied. Proceed with this procedure if the vehicle cannot be moved out of the P position when the ignition is in the ON position and the brake pedal is applied.
  1. Open the floor console arm rest.

  2. Press the brake pedal.

  3. Release the park over ride pull strap cover free from the center console and pull the park override strap to release the transmission from park.

  4. NOTE: When the brake pedal is applied and the park release strap is pulled and there is battery power, the parking brake is electronically applied.

    1. NOTE: This step only needs to be done if there is battery power available.

      Release the parking brake, by pushing down on the parking break actuator lever.

    2. Release the brake pedal.

Deactivation 

  1. Press the brake pedal.

  2. Pull the park override strap to release the park position override.

  3. NOTE: When the brake pedal is applied and the park release strap is pulled and the there is battery power, the parking brake is electronically applied.

    1. NOTE: This step only needs to be done if there is battery power available.

      Release the parking brake, by pushing down on the parking break actuator lever.

    2. Release the brake pedal.

  4. Position the park release strap back in the center console and snap the park release strap cover back in place. Close the center console arm rest.
