Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Removal

Left side: 

  1. Remove the following items:

    1. Disconnect the crank case sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the PCV quick release coupling and position aside PCV hoses out of the way. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  2. Remove the LH ignition coil-on-plug cover.

  3. Depress the locking tab on each ignition coil-on-plug electrical connector, and disconnect them from the ignition coils.

  4. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the ignition coil-on-plugs and surrounding area before removing the ignition coil-on-plug assemblies.
    NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

    1. Remove the ignition coil-on-plug mounting bolts.
    2. Remove the ignition coil-on-plugs.

    Right side:

  6. Remove the RH Ignition coil on plug cover.

  7. Depress the locking tab on each ignition coil-on-plug electrical connector, and disconnect them from the ignition coils.
