Engine Mount RH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - GT500 - Overview .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground and positive cables. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  3. Remove the following items:

    1. NOTE: No disassembly of the hood is required after the hood is removed.

      Hood. Refer to: Hood .

    2. Strut tower cross brace. Refer to: Strut Tower Cross Brace - GT500 .
    3. Air cleaner outlet pipe.
    4. Air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
    5. Battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .

  4. Remove the fasteners and the battery heat shield.

    • Slide the insulator up and disconnect the exhaust CMP sensor electrical connector.

    • Detach the wiring harness retainer.

    • Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor.

  5. Remove the LH engine mount nut.

  7. NOTE: Do not position the legs of the Engine Support Bar on the fenders. Instead, the legs should be positioned on the body structure. Failure to follow these instructions may result in body damage.

    Install the special tools and raise the engine 12 mm (0.5 inch). Install Special Service Tool: 303-F070 Support Bar, Engine.Use Special Service Tool: 303-050 (T70P-6000) Lifting Bracket, Engine.

  8. Remove the following items:

    1. Engine front undershield. Refer to: Engine Front Undershield - GT500 .
    2. Transmission fluid cooler tubes. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes .

  9. Remove the nut and the ground cable.

  10. Remove the fasteners and the RH engine mount bracket.

  11. Remove the bolts and the engine mount.
