Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 38 other vehicles, including the 2024 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2024 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty, 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty, and 2023 Ford F-550 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The brake pedal switch is an internal component of the EBB unit.

There are 2 brake circuits hardwired between the ABS module and the PCM; the BOO and the BPS.

When the brake pedal is pressed or the accelerator pedal is released, the ABS module sends a ground signal along the BOO circuit and at the same time, a voltage signal along the BPS circuit.

The ABS module also sends a brake pedal message out on the vehicle CAN.
