Engine Oil Level Sensor - 5.0L

The engine oil level (EOL) sensor is a normally open sensor hardwired to the PCM. The PCM monitors the change in voltage on the sensor signal circuit. When the oil level is high, the float rises and the sensor circuit closes, pulling the voltage low. When the oil level is low, the sensor circuit opens, pulling the voltage high, signaling the PCM the engine oil level is low. If the sensor is disconnected or stuck open, the low engine oil message will display in the message center.
