Pinpoint Test BS: The Charge Port Door Ajar Message Is Always Displayed
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

If the charge port door open status message or power pack ready display message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the charge port door ajar message center message to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.
If the charge port door open status message or power pack ready display message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the charge port door ajar message center message off.

- Charge port door magnetic latching sensor/magnet
- SOBDM concern
- SOBDMC concern
- GWM
- IPC
- BS1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Close all doors, liftgate and the hood.
- Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.
- Monitor the door ajar RTT warning indicator.
- Open the driver door.
- Clear the message center popup warning.
- Monitor the door ajar RTT warning indicator.
Is the door ajar RTT warning indicator off with the door closed, and on with the door open?
Yes GO to BS2 No GO to Pinpoint Test A - BS2 PERFORM THE SOBDM (SECONDARY ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC CONTROL MODULE A) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SOBDM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: High Voltage Battery Charging System - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) . No GO to BS3 - BS3 PERFORM THE SOBDMC (SECONDARY ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC CONTROL MODULE C) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SOBDMC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Electric Powertrain Control . No GO to BS4 - BS4 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the IPC DTC Chart. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart . No GO to BS5 - BS5 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Communications Network . No GO to BS6 - BS6 CHECK THE CHARGE PORT DOOR LATCH OPERATION
- Remove the charge port door.
- Inspect the charge port door assembly for damage.
- Inspect the charge port door latching sensor/magnet for damage or misalignment. Test the magnet for correct operation.
Is the charge port door magnetic latch OK, correctly aligned and the magnet functioning correctly?
Yes INSTALL a new charge status indicator. REFER to: Charge Status Indicator (CSI) - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) . No INSTALL a new charge port light ring. REFER to: Charge Status Indicator (CSI) - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) .
