Pinpoint Test AY: The Door Ajar Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Door Ajar Warning Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - 3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (235kW/320PS) - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Door ajar indication concern
    • IPC

  2. AY1 CHECK THE HEADLAMPS ON WARNING CHIME

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Turn the headlamps on.

    • Open the driver door.

    • Monitor the headlamps on warning chime.

    Does the headlamps on warning chime operate? 

    Yes  GO to Pinpoint Test R 
    No  INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
