Battery Disconnect and Connect - Vehicles With: Single Battery

Depower
NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the battery monitoring sensor when removing the terminal from the battery post. Do not pry on the terminals or component damage may occur.
NOTE:
To interrupt power to the vehicle electrical system, disconnect the battery ground cable only. It is not necessary to disconnect the positive battery cable.
NOTE:
Vehicles equipped with manual seats do not have a vertical seat adjustment.

NOTE: This step is only for electric vehicle.
De-energize the high voltage battery. Refer to: High Voltage System De-energizing .
- Raise and position the LH front seat forward.
- Release the retainers and remove the LH front seat rear trim panel.

- Position the LH front seat backrest cover to release a retainer.
- Position the LH front seat backrest cover.

NOTE: Seat not shown for clarity.
- If equipped, position the battery cover insulator.
- Remove the battery disconnect access cover.
- Remove the nut and position the battery cable.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
Repower
- To repower, reverse the depower procedure.
- If equipped with one-touch up and one-touch down feature, perform the window motor initialization. Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization .
Disconnect
NOTE:

Do not remove the LH front seat front track stop bolts without removing battery hold-down bracket first or damage to the wiring harness may occur.

NOTE: This step is only for electric vehicle.
De-energize the high voltage battery. Refer to: High Voltage System De-energizing .
- Raise and position the LH front seat forward.
- Release the retainers and remove the LH front seat rear trim panel.

- Position the LH front seat backrest cover and release a retainer.
- Position the LH front seat backrest cover.

NOTE: Seat not shown for clarity.
If equipped, remove the battery cover insulator.
- Remove the bolts and position the battery hold-down bracket.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Release the wire harness retainers from the battery hold-down bracket.
- Raise and position the LH front seat rearward.

NOTE: Do not remove the seat track mounting bolts.
Remove the LH front seat track stop bolt covers and the bolts.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Raise and position the LH front seat forward.

NOTE: Seat not shown for clarity.
- Release the battery cover latch.
- Pull the battery cover rearward and remove the battery cover.
- Loosen the nut and position the negative battery cable.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Remove the battery post cover. Loosen the nut and position the positive battery cable.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
Connect
- To connect, reverse the disconnect procedure.
- If equipped with one-touch up and one-touch down feature, perform the window motor initialization. Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization .
