Sliding Door Alignment

Materials

Motorcraft® Threadlock 262 TA-26 WSK-M2G351-A6

Adjustment 

Male wedges adjustment 

NOTE: Upper wedge shown, lower wedge similar
  1. Loosen the bolts to permit movement of the upper and lower wedges.

  2. Close the sliding door 3 times to allow adjustment of the position of the wedges.

  3. Tighten the lower bolt of the upper and lower wedge.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  4. Close the sliding door 3 times to allow adjustment of the position of the wedges.

    1. Tighten the upper bolt of the upper and lower wedge.

      Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

    • If door alignment is within specification, proceed to step 42 

    • If door alignment is not done properly, proceed to step 6 

    All alignments 

  5. Remove the bolts and the striker assembly.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    Sliding door, upper roller alignments. 

    NOTE: For up and down movement
    1. Loosen the nut.
    2. Use the torx head bolt to adjust the up and down movement of the door.

  6. Adjust the sliding door in up and down movement by using the torx head bolt.

  7. Tighten the nut to fix the adjustment.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    NOTE: For in and out movement
  8. Loosen the nut enough to permit movement of the sliding door.

  9. Adjust the sliding door inward and outward movement.

  10. Tighten the nut to fix the adjustment.

    Torque: 52 lb.ft (70 Nm)

  11. Loosen the bolts enough to permit movement of the sliding door.

  12. Adjust the sliding door in fore and aft movement.

  13. Tighten the bolts to fix the adjustment.

    Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

  14. NOTE: Use extra-slim profile wrench.

    Loosen the nut to adjust the sliding door.

  15. Adjust the sliding door in up and down movement using the adjustment bolt.

  16. NOTE: Use extra-slim profile wrench.

    Tighten the nut to fix the adjustment.

    NOTE: Nuts must be fully loosened in-order to disengage the anti-rotation feature
  23. Loosen the nuts to adjust the sliding door.

  25. Tighten the nuts to fix the adjustment.

    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    Bump Stop Adjustment 

    NOTE: For in and out movement
  29. Rotate and adjust the upper bump stop rubber.

    Rear striker Adjustment 

  31. Install the rear striker. Do not tighten the bolts to permit movement of the striker assembly.

    Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  32. Center the striker to the latch.

  33. Tighten the bolts to fix the adjustment.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    Crash pin adjustment 

  34. Loosen the bolts to permit movement of the crash pin.

  35. Slowly close the sliding door and observe where the crash pin is relative to sliding door.
    1. Adjust the crash pin to center of opening in sliding door.
    2. Tighten the bolts to fix the adjustment.

      Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  37. Tighten the lower bolt of the upper and lower wedge.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  38. Close the sliding door 3 times to allow adjustment of the position of the wedges.

    1. Tighten the upper bolt of the upper and lower wedge.

  39. Check the body to sliding door dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .
