Possible Sources
- Engine oil life requires reset
- Message center switch concern
- PCM
- GWM concern
- IPC

AM1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Close all doors and the hood.
- Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.
- NOTE: If multiple warnings are present, the message center cycles through each of the warning indicators. Allow the message center to cycle through each display while determining whether the door ajar message center warning is active.
  
  Monitor the door ajar message center warning.
- Open the driver door.
- Clear the message center pop-up warning.
- Monitor the door ajar message center warning.
Does the driver door ajar message center warning turn off with the driver door closed and turn on with the driver door open?

Yes GO to AM2

No GO to Pinpoint Test A

AM2 RESET THE ENGINE OIL LIFE
- NOTE: For message center menu navigation to reset the oil life, refer to the Owner Literature.
  
  Using the message center, reset the engine oil life.
Does the engine oil change RTT indicator turn off?

Yes The system is operating correctly. EXPLAIN to the customer how to reset the engine oil life.

No GO to AM3

AM3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart .

No GO to AM5

AM4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes

No GO to AM5

AM5 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST

Ignition ON.

Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCMKOEO self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes	REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS) or POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L EcoBoost (235kW/320PS) .

GO to AM6

AM6 CHECK FOR RECENT SERVICE HISTORY

CHECK the vehicle service history for recent service actions related to PCM or IPC software updates.

Was the software updated in either the PCM or IPC?

Yes

CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, UPDATE the software in the module in question. ATTEMPT to reset the engine oil life again. If the engine oil change RTT indicator is still illluminated, follow the appropriate diagnostic routine. For the PCM, INSTALL a new PCM. Refer to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS) or POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L EcoBoost (235kW/320PS) . For the IPC, INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .

No	INSTALL a new PCM. Refer to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS) or POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L EcoBoost (235kW/320PS) . If the engine oil life still cannot be reset, INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
