Parking Brake Control - 5 Ton Vehicle, Vehicles With: Drum-in-Hat: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Loosen the cable adjustment nuts. Loosen: 5 turn(s)

Remove the floor console.
1. Remove the caps.
2. Remove the screw and parking brake control cover.
  Torque: 10 lb.in (1.1 Nm)

Detach the connector and clips and position aside the wiring harness.

1. Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the parking brake control.
2. Detach the retainer and front parking brake cable.

Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
Remove the battery.
Remove the battery tray.

Remove the protector trim for the parking brake control mounting fasteners.

Remove the nuts, bolt and parking brake control assembly.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
