Rear Brake Backing Plate - 5 Ton Vehicle, Vehicles With: Drum-in-Hat: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: LH side shown in illustration, RH similar.

1. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to: Parking Brake Shoes - 5 Ton Vehicle, Vehicles With: Drum-in-Hat .
2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the LH parking brake cable from backing plate.

   Torque

   : 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

3. Disconnect the LH parking brake cable from the actuation lever.

4. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wheel speed sensor.

   Torque

   : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

5. Remove the bolts and brake backing plate.

   Torque

   : 81 lb.ft (110 Nm)
