Front Brake Pads - 5 Ton Vehicle, Vehicles With: Drum-in-Hat: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Remove the guide pin bolt cap.
- Disconnect the brake pad wear indicator assembly and position aside.
- Detach the wear indicator sensor.
- Remove screw and the wear indicator sensor cable mounting bracket.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Remove the bleeder screw cap and detach the wear indicator sensor cable.
- Remove the bolt and rotate the brake caliper approximately 60deg. around the guide pin to access the brake pads. Discard the bolt.
Torque: 25 lb.ft (34 Nm)
- Remove the brake pads.
- Remove the brake pad clips. Discard if installing new brake pads.
- If installing new brake pads, use a C-clamp and a worn brake pad to compress the disc brake caliper pistons into the brake caliper bore. Install the General Equipment: Brake Caliper Piston Retractor
