Three Passenger Bench Seat Backrest - Vehicles With: Rear Seat Recliner: Removal

WARNING: The following procedure describes critical repair steps required for correct seat component installation. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Do not place any objects between the seat components and the body of the vehicle, nor any objects within a joint internal to the seat structure. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the seat components and increases the risk of serious personal injury.

All backrests 

  1. Loosen the bolt and position the center safety belt and buckle aside.

    Torque

    : 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  2. Remove the three passenger bench seat foam and cover as an assembly. Refer to: Three Passenger Bench Seat Cushion Cover .
  3. Remove the LH three passenger seat backrest cover. Refer to: Three Passenger Bench Seat Backrest Cover .
  4. Remove the LH backrest foam while positioning the safety belt through the foam opening.

  5. Position the safety belt through the LH backrest upper safety belt guide.

    1. Release the locking tabs and remove the LH backrest safety belt guide cover.
    2. Position the safety belt through the LH backrest safety belt guide.

    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Position the rear seat recline strap aside.
    3. Release the retainer and position the seat backrest center cover aside.

  6. Remove the bolts and the LH seat backrest.

    Center and seat backrests 

  7. If equipped, loosen the bolt and position the RH seat safety belt and buckle aside.

    Torque

    : 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  8. If equipped, loosen the bolt and remove the rear safety belt double buckle.

    Torque

    : 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  9. Remove the seat backrest center cover.

  10. Remove the center three passenger seat backrest cover. Refer to: Three Passenger Bench Seat Backrest Cover .
  11. Remove the center backrest foam while positioning the safety belt through the foam opening.

    1. If equipped, remove the screw.
    2. If equipped, position the rear seat recline strap aside.
    3. If equipped, release the retainers and position the seat backrest center cover aside.

    2. If equipped, position the rear seat recline straps aside.
    3. If equipped, release the retainers and remove the seat backrest center cover.

  12. Position the safety belt through the center backrest upper safety belt guide.

    1. Release the locking tabs and remove the center backrest safety belt guide cover.
    2. Position the safety belt through the center backrest safety belt guide.

  13. Remove the bolts and the center seat backrest.

  14. If equipped, remove the seat backrest center cover.

  15. Remove the RH three passenger bench seat backrest cover. Refer to: Three Passenger Bench Seat Backrest Cover .
  16. Remove the RH seat backrest foam while positioning the safety belt through the foam opening.

  18. Remove the bolts and the RH seat backrest.
