Fuel Lines: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .

  2. Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
  3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  4. Disconnect the fuel lines. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling . Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings .

  5. Remove rear driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .
  6. Remove transmission support crossmember. Refer to: Transmission Support Crossmember - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS) .
  7. NOTE: Body removed from vehicle for clarity.

    1. Remove the nuts.

      Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

    2. Release the fuel line routing retainers and position aside the fuel lines.

    3-Door 

    1. Detach the clip.
    2. Disconnect the fuel line quick release couplings and remove the fuel lines. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

    5-Door 

    • Detach the clip.

    • Disconnect the fuel line quick release couplings and remove the fuel lines. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
