Coolant Pump: Removal

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Remove the LH air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH .
- Remove the nut and position the coolant hoses and bracket aside.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts.
- Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt .
- Remove the EGR cooler. Refer to: Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooler .

- Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Follow the directions to release quick release coupling type 3. Disconnect the coolant tube. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.

NOTE: Use caution to prevent damaging the coolant inlet pipe grommet.
Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.
- Remove and discard the coolant pump gasket and seal.
