Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Detach the coolant hose and the vapor tube retainers.

- Disconnect the cooling fan motor and shroud electrical connectors.
- Release the tabs and position aside the exhaust emission control module.
- Detach the coolant tube from the cooling fan shroud.
- Remove the push pins.

NOTE: The cable ties must be installed to allow the cooling module to drop 2-3 inches.
Using a series of cable ties support both sides of the cooling module utilizing the push pin holes and the upper radiator mounts.
Use the General Equipment: Cable Ties
- Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

NOTE: When removing any turbocharger air intake system components, make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. All components need to be inspected and cleaned prior to installation or reassembly.
Loosen the clamps and disconnect the CAC hoses.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the retainers and the lower load path bars.
Torque: 1: 46 lb.ft (62 Nm)
2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector and detach the retainers.
- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Loosen the clamps and remove the CAC tubes.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

- Detach the wiring harness retainers.
- Detach the coolant hose retainer.
- Remove the bolt and position the transmission fluid heater coolant control valve.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the lower radiator support.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Remove the bolts, release the clips and the remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
