Oil Cooler: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
- Remove and discard the engine oil filter.

- Using hose locking pliers, clamp the oil cooler coolant hoses.

- Using the hose clamp remover, remove the coolant hoses.
Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Using hose locking pliers, clamp the oil cooler coolant hoses.

NOTE: If metal or foreign material is present in the oil cooler, mechanical concerns exist. To diagnose the mechanical concerns refer to Engine . .
Remove the retainer and the oil cooler.
