Oil Cooler: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
  3. Remove and discard the engine oil filter.

    1. Using hose locking pliers, clamp the oil cooler coolant hoses.

    2. Using the hose clamp remover, remove the coolant hoses.

  4. NOTE: If metal or foreign material is present in the oil cooler, mechanical concerns exist. To diagnose the mechanical concerns refer to Engine . .

    Remove the retainer and the oil cooler.
