Pinpoint Test Ah: The DTE (Distance To Empty) /Average Fuel Economy (AFE) Display Is Inoperative

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Message Center - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Communication concern
    • IPC

  2. AH1 VERIFY OPERATION OF THE FUEL GAUGE

    • Ignition ON.

    • Verify operation of the fuel gauge.

    Does the fuel gauge operate properly? 

    Yes  GO to  AH2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test B 

  3. AH2 VERIFY OPERATION OF THE SPEEDOMETER

    • Verify operation of the speedometer.

    Does the speedometer operate properly? 

    Yes  GO to  AH3
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test C 

  4. AH3 VERIFY OPERATION OF THE ODOMETER

    • Verify operation of the odometer.

    Does the odometer operate properly? 

    Yes  Install a new IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test E
