Battery Disconnect and Connect - Vehicles With: Single Battery

Depower 

NOTE: To interrupt power to the vehicle electrical system, disconnect the battery ground cable only. It is not necessary to disconnect the positive battery cable.
NOTE: Vehicles equipped with manual seats do not have a vertical seat adjustment.
  1. Raise and position the LH front seat forward.

  2. Release the retainers and remove the LH front seat rear trim panel.

    1. Position the LH front seat backrest cover to release a retainer.
    2. Position the LH front seat backrest cover.

  3. NOTE: Seat not shown in illustration for clarity.

    1. If equipped, position the battery cover insulator.
    2. Remove the battery disconnect access cover.

  4. Remove the nut and position the battery cable.

    Torque

    : 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Repower 

  1. To repower, reverse the depower procedure.
  2. If equipped with one-touch up and one-touch down feature, perform the window motor initialization. Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization .

Disconnect 

NOTE: Do not remove the LH front seat front track stop bolts without removing battery hold-down bracket first or damage to the wiring harness may occur.
  1. Raise and position the LH front seat forward.

  2. Release the retainers and remove the LH front seat rear trim panel.

    1. Position the LH front seat backrest cover and release a retainer.
    2. Position the LH front seat backrest cover.

  3. NOTE: Seat not shown in illustration for clarity.

    If equipped, remove the battery cover insulator.

  4. Remove the bolts and position the battery hold-down bracket.

    Torque

    : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  5. Release the wire harness retainers from the battery hold-down bracket.

  6. Raise and position the LH front seat rearward.

  7. NOTE: Do not remove the seat track mounting bolts.

    Remove the LH front seat track stop bolt covers and the bolts.

    Torque

    : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  8. Raise and position the LH front seat forward.

    1. Release the battery cover latch.
    2. Pull the battery cover rearward and remove the battery cover.

  10. Loosen the nut and position the negative battery cable.

    Torque

    : 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

  11. Remove the battery post cover. Loosen the nut and position the positive battery cable.

    Torque

    : 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Connect 

  1. To connect, reverse the disconnect procedure.
  2. If equipped with one-touch up and one-touch down feature, perform the window motor initialization. Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization .
