Removal And Installation: Radiator: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding  .
  2. Release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  3. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. Refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud 
  4. Remove the retainers and the radiator sight shield.

  5. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  6. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  7. Remove the bolts and the upper radiator support brackets.

    Torque

    : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  8. NOTE: Front bumper removed for clarity.

    1. Position the radiator towards the engine.
    2. Release the upper tabs and position the A/C condenser aside.

  9. NOTE: If equipped.
    NOTE: Front bumper removed for clarity.

    Remove the bolts and position aside the transmission fluid cooler.

    Torque

    : 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

    Remove the radiator.
