Pinpoint Test BM: The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

Possible Sources
- GWM concern
- BCM concern
- IPC

BM1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.
- Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?

Yes GO to BM3

No GO to Pinpoint Test BV

BM2 CHECK THE HEADLAMPS OPERATION
- NOTE: Make sure to allow the headlamp exit delay to time out before confirming the headlamp operation.
  
  Check the operation of the headlamps in the off position.
Do the headlamps turn off when switched off?

Yes GO to BM3

No DIAGNOSE the headlamps. REFER to: Headlamps

BM3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

No GO to BM4

BM4 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM)

No GO to BM5

BM5 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to: Communications Network

No INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
