Possible Sources
- Communication concern
- Reverse lamps concern
- GWM concern
- IPC
- BH1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.
- Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
Yes GO to BH2 No GO to Pinpoint Test BV - BH2 CHECK THE REVERSE LAMPS OPERATION
- Apply the parking brake.
- Place the selector lever (automatic) or gearshift lever (manual) in REVERSE (R).
- Verify the reverse lamps operate correctly.
Do the reverse lamps operate correctly?
Yes GO to BH3 No REFER to: Reversing Lamps - BH3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . No GO to BH4 - BH4 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the appropriate Electronic Engine Controls article. No GO to BH5 - BH5 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Communications Network No INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
