Pinpoint Test BD: The Convertible Top Warning Message Is Always Displayed
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

If the convertible top message request is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the convertible top warning message to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.
If the convertible top message request is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the convertible top warning message off.

- GWM concern

- BD1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Close all doors, the hood and luggage compartment lid.
- Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.
- Monitor the door ajar RTT.
- Open the driver door.
- Clear the message center popup warning.
- Monitor the door ajar RTT.
Is the door ajar RTT off with the door closed, and on with the door open?
Yes GO to BD2 No INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . - BD2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . No GO to BD3 - BD3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE MRCMA (MOVABLE ROOF CONTROL MODULE A) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the MRCMA self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Convertible Top No GO to BD4 - BD4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Communications Network No INSTALL a new MRCMA. REFER to: Convertible Top Motor
