Pinpoint Test As: The Launch Control RTT (RECONFIGURABLE Telltale) Is Never On (Analog IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster))

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Launch Control RTT. REFER to: Message Center - System Operation and Component Description .

    If the launch control message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the launch control RTT to the last indication state (on or off), based upon the last message received.

    If the launch control message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC flashes the LC RTT image for 2 seconds.

    Possible Sources 

    • Communication concern
    • GWM concern
    • PCM
    • IPC

  2. AS1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION

    • Ignition ON.

    • Close all doors, the hood and luggage compartment lid.

    • Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.

    • Monitor the door ajar RTT.

    • Open the driver door.

    • Clear the message center popup warning.

    • Monitor the door ajar RTT.

    Is the door ajar RTT off with the door closed, and on with the door open? 

    Yes  GO to  AS2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test AO 

  3. AS2 VERIFY THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) DISPLAYS OTHER SELECTABLE FEATURES

    • NOTE: The IPC and message center navigation can be found in the Owner's Literature.

      Using the message center controls, verify the accelerometer and brake performance functions are displayed in the trac apps menu.

    Can the accelerometer and brake performance functions be selected and displayed? 

    Yes  GO to  AS3
    No  INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

  4. AS3 VERIFY THE LAUNCH CONTROL IS ENABLED THROUGH THE MESSAGE CENTER

    • NOTE: The IPC and message center navigation can be found in the Owner's Literature.

      Using the message center controls, verify the launch control is enabled.

    Is the launch control enabled through the message center? 

    Yes  GO to  AS4
    No  The system is operating correctly. The launch control was not enabled.

  5. AS4 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
    No  GO to  AS5

  6. AS5 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to the appropriate Electronic Engine Controls article
    No  GO to  AS6

  7. AS6 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Communications Network
    No  Refer to PCM Guided Routine .
