Parking Brake Control: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly. Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe - 2.3L EcoBoost (231kW/314PS)/2.3L EcoBoost (257kW/350PS) - MI4. Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe - 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT (359kW/486PS) (WU)/5.0L Ti-VCT V8 (343kW/466PS) (MF).
1. Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.
2. Rotate the cable outward, then pull the pin and cable upwards and disconnect from the equalizer.

Release the tabs and disconnect the front cable from the bracket.

Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console
Remove the bolt and position the parking brake switch aside.

1. Remove the 2 bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
2. Remove the nut and the parking brake control and front cable assembly.
  Torque
  
  : 150 lb.in (17 Nm)
