Parking Brake Cable LH: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly. Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe - 2.3L EcoBoost (231kW/314PS)/2.3L EcoBoost (257kW/350PS) - MI4. Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe - 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT (359kW/486PS) (WU)/5.0L Ti-VCT V8 (343kW/466PS) (MF). .
1. Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.
2. Push inward on the 2 tabs and detach the LH cable from the bracket.
3. Rotate the cable, slide the pin upwards and detach the cable from the equalizer.

1. Remove the parking brake cable bracket nut.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
2. Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Remove the 2 parking brake cable bracket bolts.
1. Torque
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
2. Torque
  : 20 lb.ft (27.5 Nm)

Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire
1. Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 20 lb.ft (27.5 Nm)
2. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake caliper lever.
3. Push inwards on the 2 tabs, detach the parking brake cable from the brake caliper bracket and remove the parking brake cable.
