Pinpoint Test AE: A Virtual Display (Accelerometer, Exhaust Mode, Launch Control, Or Track Apps [Acceleration Timer, Brake Performance, Lap Timer Or Engine Rev Match]) Display Is Inoperative

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Accelerometer, Exhaust Mode, Launch Control or Track Apps display. REFER to: Message Center - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Communication concern
    • ABS module concern
    • PCM concern
    • BCM concern
    • GWM concern
    • IPC

  2. AE1 VERIFY THE LANE DEPARTURE IS TURNED OFF

    • Ignition ON.

    Is the lane departure turned off? 

    Yes  GO to  AE2
    No  TURN OFF the lane departure feature.
  3. AE2 VERIFY THE APPLICABLE DISPLAY MODE IS ENABLED THROUGH THE MESSAGE CENTER

    • NOTE: The IPC and message center navigation can be found in the Owner's Literature.

      Using the message center controls, verify the display mode in question is enabled.

    Is the display mode in question enabled? 

    Yes  GO to  AE3
    No  ENABLE the desired display mode. The system is operating correctly.
  4. AE3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
    No  GO to  AE4
  5. AE4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Communications Network
    No  GO to  AE5
  6. AE5 PERFORM THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control
    No  GO to  AE6
  7. AE6 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to the appropriate Electronic Engine Controls article.
    No  GO to  AE7
  8. AE7 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM)
    No  INSTALL a new IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
