Wheel Bearings, Wheel Hub Seal and Wheel Bearing Cups - Vehicles With: Dual Rear Wheels: Installation

All vehicles

NOTE: Make sure that the component is clean and free of foreign material.
1. Clean the hub.
2. Coat the hub with clean axle lubricant.
  Material: Motorcraft® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant / XY-75W140-QL (WSL-M2C192-A)

Using the special tools, install the new inner and outer bearing cups. Use Special Service Tool: 308-391 Installer, Input Shaft Bearing Cup., 205-442 Installer, Wheel Hub Inner Bearing Cup. Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press

NOTE: The wheel hub bearings must be prelubricated with grease prior to installation. Pack each bearing with a bearing packing tool.

Clean, inspect and pack the inner and outer bearings with grease.

Material: Motorcraft® Premium Long-Life Grease / XG-1-E1 (ESA-M1C75-B)

NOTE: The wheel hub bearings must be prelubricated with grease prior to installation. Pack each bearing with a bearing packing tool. Also apply grease to the thrust surface of the bearing.

Install the new inner wheel hub bearing.

Vehicle equipped with Dana M300 light duty
NOTE: The inner wheel hub seal surface should be clean of all foreign material before installation.

Install the new inner wheel hub seal.
- Install the new seal onto a suitable special tool. Use Special Service Tool: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle., 205-1070 Installer, Wheel End Seal - M300LD and M300 BRG.
- Using the special tools, install the new inner wheel hub seal.

Vehicle equipped with Dana M300 heavy duty
NOTE: The inner wheel hub seal surface should be clean of all foreign material before installation.

Install the new inner wheel hub seal.
- Install the new seal onto a suitable special tool. Use Special Service Tool: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle., 205-1069 Installer, Wheel End Seal - M275_M300HD.
- Using the special tools, install the new inner wheel hub seal.

Install the wheel hub. Refer to: Wheel Hub .
