Pinpoint Test Ax: The OVERSPEED Warning RTT (RECONFIGURABLE Telltale) (Gulf Cooperative Countries [GCC]) Is Never Or Always On

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Overspeed Warning RTT. REFER to: Message Center - System Operation and Component Description .

    If the vehicle speed message is missing or invalid for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the overspeed warning RTT to the last indication state (on or off), based upon on the last message received.

    If the vehicle speed message is missing or invalid for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the overspeed warning RTT off.

    Possible Sources 

    • Speedometer indication concern
    • IPC configuration concern
    • IPC

  2. AX1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION

    • Ignition ON.

    • Close all doors, the hood and luggage compartment lid.

    • Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.

    • Monitor the door ajar RTT.

    • Open the driver door.

    • Clear the message center popup warning.

    • Monitor the door ajar RTT.

    Is the door ajar RTT off with the door closed, and on with the door open? 

    Yes  GO to  AX2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test AO 
  3. AX2 CHECK THE SPEEDOMETER OPERATION

    • Verify the speedometer operates.

    Does the speedometer operate? 

    Yes  GO to  AX3
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test E 
  4. AX3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
    No  CONFIRM the vehicle was built for the Gulf Cooperative Country [GCC] market. If the vehicle was not built for a Gulf Cooperative Country [GCC], the IPC is functioning correctly. If the vehicle was built for a Gulf Cooperative Country [GCC], PERFORM the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure using as built data as directed by the diagnostic scan tool.
