Fuel System Pressure Release

Pressure release
- Refer to: Gasoline and Gasoline-Ethanol Fuel Systems Health and Safety Precautions
- Remove junction box panel
- Remove the fuse F80 (fuel pump relay) from the junction box panel.
- Install junction block panel.
- Start the engine and allow it to idle until the engine stops.
- Crank the engine for approximately five seconds to make sure that the fuel rail pressure is released.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Remove junction block.
- When the fuel system service is complete, install the fuse F80 (fuel pump relay) to the junction box panel.
- Install junction block.

NOTE: It may take more than one key cycle to pressurize the fuel system.
Cycle the ignition key and wait 3 seconds to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks before starting the engine.
- Start the vehicle and check the fuel system for leaks.
