Removal And Installation: Hood: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the retainers and hood insulation.

  2. Detach the windshield washer hose retainers and couplings.

  3. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Remove the nuts and the brackets.

    Torque

    : 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

  4. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Remove the scoop assemblies.

  5. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Remove the striker latch to hood bolts and the striker latch.

    Torque

    : 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

  6. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Remove the retainers and the hood pad assembly.

  7. NOTE: RH side shown in illustration, LH side similar.

    Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.

  8. NOTE: An assistant is necessary for the removal of the hood.

    Remove the nuts and the hood.

    Torque

    : 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
