Hood - GT500: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Detach the windshield washer hose retainers and couplings.

Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.

Detach the hood strut from the hood by pulling away the strut clips.

NOTE: An assistant is necessary for the removal of the hood.

Remove the nuts and the hood.

Torque

: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
1. Remove the bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
2. Pull out the front edge of hood scoop and remove the pin type retainers.
3. Slide up and remove the hood scoop assembly.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Remove the striker latch to hood bolts and the striker latch.

Torque

: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
