Brake Master Cylinder: Removal
NOTE:
If the brake fluid is spilled on any component, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and using a suction device, remove the brake fluid from the reservoir. Use the General Equipment: Fluid Suction Gun
- Remove the climate control housing. Refer to: Climate Control Housing .
- Remove the steering column. Refer to: Steering Column .

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
Disconnect the brake tube fittings.
Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
- Remove the nuts and position the brake master cylinder aside.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Detach the brake tube hold down bracket, disconnect the brake tubes and remove the brake master cylinder.
