NOTE: This procedure should be performed when a new transmission, main control valve body, hybrid drive unit, or transmission fluid auxiliary pump is installed in the vehicle.
The Transmission Identification (TRID) file stored in the PCM contains the characterization data for the main control valve body and the transmission fluid auxiliary pump. The Transmission Identification (TRID) file stored in the inverter system controller [SOBDMC] contains the resolver offsets for the hybrid drive unit.
- If a new transmission was installed, record the 13-digit solenoid body strategy from the solenoid body service information tag on the side of the transmission.
- If a new main control valve body was installed, record the 13-digit solenoid body strategy from the replacement solenoid body tag provided with the main control service kit. Place the replacement tag over the existing identification tag.
- If a new hybrid drive unit was installed, use a QR or 2D barcode reader app and record the last 7 digits of the barcode near the input shaft.
- If a new transmission fluid auxiliary pump was installed, use a QR or 2D barcode reader app and record the last 22 digits of the barcode on the pump.
- Using the scan tool, Select Toolbox and download the Transmission Strategy Download tool.
- Run the Transmission Strategy Download tool. Follow the instructions displayed on the scan tool. There are fields to enter characterization data for each component.
- Enter characterization data for the new components. The scan tool verifies the numbers entered are valid and displays a message if the information is not valid.
- Follow the instructions displayed on the scan tool to program the Transmission Identification (TRID) file into the PCM and or inverter system controller [SOBDMC].
