Pinpoint Test Bi : P0560, P0562

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to: Electric Powertrain Control - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
SOBDMC P0560:00 System Voltage: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the internal processor voltages are greater than a calibrated range.
SOBDMC P0562:00 System Voltage Low: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the internal processor voltages are less than a calibrated range.

    Possible Sources

    • Wiring, terminals or connectors
    • Low 12V battery voltage

  2. BI1 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C1458A.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1458A-K3

      Ground

Is the voltage greater than 11.5 V?

    Yes  GO to  BI2
No  DIAGNOSE the low voltage symptom. REFER to: Charging System . Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
  3. BI2 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE

    • Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1458A-K3
      GFD513962Courtesy of FORD MOTOR COMPANY
      Ground

Is the voltage less than 16V?

    Yes  GO to  BI3
No  DIAGNOSE the high voltage symptom. REFER to: Charging System . Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
  4. BI3 CHECK FOR INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.

    • Allow the Inverter System Controller (ISC) to complete a normal power down sequence.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.

Is DTC P0560 or P0562 present in the Inverter System Controller (ISC)?

    Yes  GO to  BI4
No  Test is complete, the system is operating correctly at this time.
  5. BI4 CHECK THE PSR VOLTAGE PARAMETER IDENTIFICATIONS (PIDS)

    • Access the SOBDMC and monitor the ECU_VPWR (V) PID

    • Access the SOBDMC and monitor the ECU_VPWR_HR (V) PID

Are the PID voltages within 3 volts of each other?

Yes  While monitoring the PIDs, inspect the harness for an intermittent circuit issue while wiggling the harness at the Inverter System Controller (ISC).
    No  REPAIR the affected circuit.
